The Puka tree is large leaved, evergreen tree endemic to New Zealand. The leaves of the puka are the largest of any native flora and may grow up to 50 x 20 cm in size. While young, the leaves are green and glossy but once they have shed from the tree, they become brown and dry. This Puka leaf carving has been made from miro and rimu timber, and represents the size and texture of a fallen leaf. Piece measures 53 x 19 x 3cm, and is fitted with a d-ring ready to be wall hung.
