The Kakariki is a small native New Zealand parrot with a lot of character. They are predominantly green in colour with a red breasted and yellow breasted species once found throughout New Zealand but now found in limited habitats.

This Kakariki tail feather has been carved from a piece of Rimu timber and painted in acrylics. It measures 42 x 7 x 1 cm, is fitted with a tri-ring for easy hanging indoors and is finished with a beeswax polish.
