The Kererū, or native wood pigeon, is another of New Zealand’s most treasured birds. They are large, rotund pigeons that may be found in the foliage of large trees around the North Island including in the back yards of Kiwi homes. The feathers of the Kererū have a subtle iridescence and this on is coloured grey-green.
This flight feather has been individually hand crafted from salvaged rimu timber and finished with a deep green-grey paint to achieve a subtle colour change effect. A tri-ring is installed on the rear and the feather is ready to hang indoors. This feather measures 52 x 8 x 1cm.
Not suitable for display in full sun or near heat. Use a soft cloth to dust if necessary. I use Bee Kind beeswax polish when necessary. See options for gifting.
