This Kōtare, or Sacred Kingfisher, tail feather is carved in rimu and painted in iridescent turquoise colours. It measures 42 x 7 x 1cm and is fitted with a tri-ring for easy hanging indoors. Iridescent sheen changes with the light of the day and the seasons.
This piece has been finished with a beeswax polish and may be dusted with a soft cloth. Best displayed away from direct heat or sun.
