Eastern Rosella Tail Feather in Rimu- 50cm

$550.00

The Eastern Rosella is a strikingly beautiful parrot native to eastern Australia. With its vibrant plumage, it boasts a mix of bright red, green, blue, violet and yellow feathers. Eastern Rosellas thrive in open woodlands, parks, and gardens, where they can find plenty of seeds, fruits, and flowers to feed on. Their joyful calls and playful interactions bring life to their environments, often spotted in pairs or small groups. They are known for their agile flight and can often be seen darting through trees or foraging on the ground. The Eastern Rosella was introduced to New Zealand in the 1900s and is considered a pest species here.

This rosella tail feather has been carved and painted while observing a moulted feather from my collection. It measures 50 × 9 × 2cm and has been crafted in rimu timber, irirdescent colour has been added to replicate the sheen I have also observed.

Carving is fitted with a tri-ring for easy hanging, not suitable for display outdoors, in full sun or near heat. May be dusted with a soft cloth when necessary. Finished with a beeswax polish.

Also available for postage to Australia.
